AB6 – Late-Identified and Overlooked: ASD and ADHD in Queer Adults 2‑HOUR SESSION
Queer adults are disproportionately late-identified for ASD and ADHD, often after years of misdiagnosis, masking, and pathologizing. This session examines how intersecting identities shape diagnostic presentation, delay identification, and complicate treatment. Attendees will explore the clinical and systemic factors that cause these clients to be overlooked, and leave with practical frameworks for affirming, accurate assessment and post-identification therapeutic support.
